Golden LEGO + 2Gb USB memory stick = awesome

For a limited time only (a very, very limited time) you can order a 2Gb USB memory stick made out of a 2×4 50th anniversary golden LEGO brick. This is not an imitation brick or similar cheap knock off (which I’ve been known to scoff at on occasion), this is a real, authentic LEGO brick! Problem is, there’s only one, as it was handmade by Etsy vendor 123smile, located in Munich. It’s a prototype to see how a gold brick-conversion would work. By 123smile’s admission apparently the uniqueness of the golden brick made it too costly and time consuming to continue doing in quantity, so this is a one-of-a-kind.

I was tipped to the storefront after the golden brick memory stick was picked up in a Geeky Gadget story that topped my Google News feed for a brief moment. To my surprise, the reasonably priced $29.95 custom job isn’t the only cool mod available, as there are also a multitude of handmade nano USB sticks in smile123’s store, though the price:Gb ratio gets a bit steeper.

As the majority of these products are handmade from authentic LEGO bricks, they are completely connectable to other LEGO, and the craftsmanship appears to be top notch.
